Chapter 6

As they sat down with the pizza in between them, Pete watched the interplay between the two women. Erin had immediately noticed the change in the way Sam was dressed. The way those two buttons were open. Trying not to let him see, she seemed to mouth the words to Sam, ‘Did you, or did he?’ The last part was accompanied by a jerk of her head toward Pete. Sam seemed to deliberately misunderstand the question and didn’t really answer it. She just shrugged as if to say, does it matter? That left Erin in a quandary, she couldn’t ask outright, not without providing Pete with a chance to intervene.

The pizzas were delicious, and Pete was quite surprised to find Sam finished hers first, a fraction of a slice before Erin polished off hers. He still had a full slice left at that point. Erin sat back quite casually, but Sam made a performance of her change of posture. Making sure her breasts jutted out into the short, tied-off blouse.

Pete just smiled and turned and winked at Erin, who appeared a little upset about her daughter’s brazen behavior. She glared back at him, but he just ignored that.

“So, ladies, did you enjoy your pizzas?”

“No, Sam, I wasn’t going to let you roll for your honor again.”

“Oh.” If anything, the younger woman looked disappointed.

“I thought we’d play cards instead.”

“Strip poker?” Erin blurted out the question before she could stop herself.

“What a lovely idea. Why didn’t I think of that?” He grinned at her, and Erin slowly flushed, knowing he was toying with her.

“I thought something simpler and quicker this time around. High card wins, low card loses.”

“Oh.”

“More fun for me that way.”

“Are you playing then?” Sam’s grin was infectious, and he grinned back.

“No chance, sweetheart. No, I get to watch one of you two get fully naked.”

“And when one of us is naked?”

“I get to give one of you an enjoyable experience while the other one goes home.”

“You mean the loser?” Sam was not going to let the staring contest between Pete and her mother take control of the room.

“Not necessarily. It depends on what’s on offer.”

He suspected that Sam was pouting, but he was watching Erin as she processed what he’d said. She gave a tiny, almost imperceptible nod of understanding and allowed her expression to morph into a gentle smile. He’d as much
